good buy June 28, 2010 judge c At first, it didn't feel comfortable, but after a couple of use. It broked in evenly, now it's comfortable. It keeps my feet warm at work at the dairy- deli section, but when I go to the freezer side, I have to keep moving my feet around to stay warm. In a nut shell, it works pretty good, much better than regular shoes or sneakers.
excellent seller June 1, 2010 vishva dev (thousand oaks, ca United States) This is good pair of shoes but didnot fit me well. Return was handled very graciously. Thank You.
I wear size 10W and an 11.5 was the right fit for me. December 27, 2009 meester (Philadelphia, PA USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I haven't purchased these boots, but I might because they may 'have it all". Sizing on these Merrell's was nutty. My local EMS store had a size 11.5 in stock but no other size. I usually wear a 10 and Wide is best. Wearing a medium weight wool sock the 11.5 was a nice fit though(What's with that? Not even close?)
My biggest concern is slipperieness on damp surfaces. I have flagstone paths and two pair of dangerously slippery Columbia boots that can't be worn outside if it's damp. (Kind of negates the waterproof thing). Does anyone have a comment on these Merrell boots regarding slipperieness?
Thanks
A good Multi-purpose boot May 19, 2009 Asymptote (California,USA)
I used this boot in a spring summit climb of Matterhorn peak, CA. Worked well with crampons climbing on close to icy snow early morning and also during descent on relatively soft snow. Use with Gaitors to avoid your socks getting wet. What impressed me more is, I was able to do some 3rd class scrambling on rocks. I am happy with the boot so far and plan to use it on my Shasta summit attempt. Probably a great boot for spring snow mountaineering conditions.
Great Boot! February 16, 2009 Scott A. Burnside (Chicago, IL USA) This boot has great traction and keeps my feet warm. It is very comfortable, durable, and is water proof which is key to the cold and snowy Chicago winters.
The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is due to the zipper will sometimes unzip while walking.
